The Challenger Race, a classic medium-long distance regatta, will take place from October 14th to October 20th, 2023, starting in Biograd and taking you all the way to Dubrovnik and back.

Experience the thrill of the race with two medium-distance regattas, complete with late-night races and live internet monitoring to keep you up-to-date every step of the way. As a biennial event alternating with the Croatian Coastal Cup, the Offshore Challenge promises to be an unforgettable experience for all participants.

As one of the biggest track racing events in Croatia, the Challenge Race has grown into a world-class regatta that draws in competitors from both the national and international sailing communities. Each year, over 100 yachts gather on the stunning Adriatic coast to take part in this prestigious event.

Indulge in the festivities with food, drinks, and music provided each evening in the Race Village at both the Biograd and Dubrovnik stations. As a crew member, you'll have access to all the food and beverage facilities offered by the Event Organization, including bar service, barbecue offerings, and indoor/outdoor dining options with a dress code provided by Sailing Munich.

The Challenge Race is much more than just a offshore racing, it's also a valuable learning opportunity and a chance to expand your network with fellow sailors.

Will the Croatia Sailing Course itinerary change?

At Sailing Munich, we're passionate about creating safe and enjoyable regatta for our students. To ensure your safety and comfort, we may occasionally need to adjust our itinerary due to weather conditions, port availability, or other factors. Rest assured that we always strive to provide the best possible experience for our team, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Our skipper is dedicated to making your regatta unforgettable, and we're always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Let's work together to make this an amazing journey!

What are the sleeping arrangements?

If you'd like to have a cabin to yourself with a double bed, you can do so by paying a single supplement of 50%. Alternatively, you can share a cabin with another solo passenger of the same gender.

What currency should I bring?

The currency is Euro since January 2023.

What is the food and drink situation?

At Sailing Munich, we want you to savor every moment of your regatta experience - and that includes your meals! To provide you with greater flexibility and choice, we don't include food and drinks in our packages. However, our yacht comes equipped with a kitchenette complete with a gas stove, refrigerator, oven, and kettle, so you can prepare your own meals on board. We recommend bringing your own food and drinks before boarding, which you can easily purchase from the supermarket located in the Marina at Biograd. This way, you can select precisely what you need for your meals and enjoy them just the way you like them.

Are bed linen and towels included?

Yes they are, however the towels are for indoor/shower use only – you’ll need to bring your own beach towel for outdoors.

When does the trip start and finish?

We can't wait to welcome you aboard The Challenge Race! Check-in begins at 4pm on Saturday at Marina Biograd, and we kindly ask that all our passengers disembark by 9am on the following Saturday so that we have time to clean and prepare the yacht for the next group. We'll send you detailed directions to the marina when you book your tour, so you'll have no trouble finding us. 

Are there any local payments that I need to be aware of?

We want to make sure that our guests have a stress-free and enjoyable experience onboard our regatta, and that includes managing expenses. To help facilitate the extra costs associated with port fees, fuel, and tourist taxes, we recommend using the Splitwise app (available for Android and iOS).
