About the Event
Experience the Ultimate Adriatic Adventure: Sail Croatia's Breathtaking Coastline in 2024. Our 7-day itinerary takes you on a journey through the stunning Dalmatian Coastline, from Sukosan to National Park Kornati. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Croatia's picturesque islands and create unforgettable memories on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Experience a Yachtie's Paradise in Croatia's Kornati Islands. With around 89 barely inhabited islands scattered across 300sqkm (116sqmi) of sea, this archipelago is a true gem. Since 1980, the entire area has been protected within a national park, offering breathtaking views of dolphins leaping, crabs crawling, and many types of butterflies fluttering around. It's important to note that the Kornati Islands have no cars, hotels, shops, or ferries, making renting a chartered yacht the best way to explore this unique and stunning region. Don't miss your chance to discover the beauty of the Kornati Islands.
The Kornati Islands are famous for their iconic dry stone walls, hand-built by skilled Kurnatars to mark boundaries and protect pastures from wandering sheep. These impressive walls span a length of approximately 330 kilometers and are primarily located on the largest island, Kornat.
In the 1630s, inhabitants of Murter and Betina migrated to the Kornati after being sought out by the Zadar nobility to care for their flocks. At the same time, people from Murter and Betina were seeking a new place to live and found an opportunity on the Kornati to raise sheep. By the late 19th century, they had purchased the land and became the masters of the Kornati.
The Kornati islands are home to sheep breeding and olive growing, with over 18,000 olive trees and 2,000 sheep on the island. While the islands are not permanently inhabited, peasant and fisherman's houses turned into restaurants and accommodation facilities have become a favorite destination for boaters and tourists, offering a "Robinson Crusoe" style of tourism.
The Kornati archipelago is a stunning destination that attracts yachtsmen, divers, mountaineers, and nature enthusiasts alike. Its kilometers-long cliffs, vibrant flora, and diverse fauna offer a breathtaking experience for visitors.
For those who love exploring the depths of the sea, the Kornati waters are an especially alluring challenge. Diving in reveals a stunning multicolored landscape, complete with coral "forests" and a wide variety of fish species. The underwater world of the Kornati is truly a sight to behold.
Hikers can take advantage of numerous viewing points throughout the archipelago to experience its beauty from above. Walking along island paths and through olive orchards offers a reminder of the hardworking Kurnatari people, who played a vital role in shaping the Kornati's appearance.
In addition to its natural beauty, the Kornati archipelago is home to some exceptional dining experiences hidden within its coves. With over 20 top restaurants within the Kornati National Park, visitors can savor unique specialties made from fresh, homegrown ingredients, accompanied by great wine and fantastic views.
Konoba Opat, Core Kornati, Konoba Levranka, and Konoba Šoleta are just a few of the restaurants that offer a perfect blend of the natural environment and exceptional food. Each restaurant provides yacht moorings right in front of the establishment, accessible through secret routes that our skilled skipper can show you.

Since most tourists visit Croatia during the summer months, the crowds tend to thin out in April, May, September and October. Take advantage of it! Restaurants are open and your chances of getting the best table increase. You can be more spontaneous during your sailing vacation in Croatia, as you don't have to reserve a table in advance. It is also easier to get a seat in the marinas so you can be at sea sailing all day, without having to rush to the nicer anchorages to secure a seat. This allows you to be more flexible and even choose between secluded bays, marinas and restaurants. Very luxurious!
Flight booking prices are lower during April, May September and October. So our little tip for you, take the opportunity to sail in Croatia during the "golden hour" at the beginning or end of the season. These months we have the best wind conditions, no stress with crowds, and the lowest prices.
