SAILING MUNICH
RACING TEAM
Precision. Strategy. Speed.
Join the elite crew. Transition from cruising to competitive racing on high-performance yachts.
The Art of Competitive Sailing
Racing is the ultimate test of a sailor. It strips away the leisure of holiday cruising and replaces it with the necessity for absolute precision. In a regatta, you do not just react to the wind, you anticipate it. You learn to optimize every square meter of sail area and make split-second tactical decisions that determine the difference between the podium and the fleet.
This program is not a sightseeing tour. It is a high-octane discipline designed for those who have mastered the basics and are hungry for more. We race not just to win, but to sharpen our instincts, master the physics of sailing under pressure, and forge a cohesive unit capable of handling a 45-foot yacht at its physical limit.

Race Training Modules
✓ The Start Line Strategy Understanding the "box," timing approaches, and defending your position. We drill the critical 5-minute countdown sequence until you can hit the line at full speed the second the gun fires.
✓ Advanced Trim & Boat Speed Moving beyond "set and forget." You will learn active trimming: adjusting car positions, backstay tension, and traveler controls constantly to maintain target boat speed (polars) in shifting winds.
✓ Spinnaker Peels & Gybes Mastering the foredeck. We practice symmetric and asymmetric spinnaker maneuvers, including rapid douses at the leeward mark and seamless peels, ensuring no speed is lost during transitions.
✓ Rules of Racing A deep dive into the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). You will learn how to use the rules tactically to control opponents, defend your wind, and avoid penalties in crowded mark roundings.
✓ Rules of Racing Understanding how crew weight distribution impacts hull drag. We focus on synchronization, communication loops, and the choreography of movement that turns eight individuals into a single operating mind.
Life in the Fast Lane
While we still sail in the stunning waters of Croatia and the Mediterranean, the scenery becomes the background to our mission.
The tempo of a regatta week is fundamentally different from a training course. Days start early with tactical briefings and weather routing analysis. On the water, the focus is absolute.
You will push the boat and yourself.
We sail on modern performance cruisers like the Bavaria 46 or Salona 45, boats designed to convert wind power directly into acceleration.
You will experience the physical demand of grinding winches during a tacking duel and the mental focus required to hold a lane in dirty wind. This is where you build the reactive muscle memory that defines a true yachtsman.

The Result
You will cease to be a passenger. You will become a racer. By the end of the event, you will understand the intricate dance of wind shadows, current, and leverage. You will return with a level of confidence that only comes from handling a yacht in close quarters with fifty other boats.
And, if we sail well, you might return with a trophy.

FAQ | Racing Team
Q: Do I need previous racing experience?
No. If you have completed our Advanced Course, you have the technical foundation we need. We will teach you the specific racing tactics and maneuvers during the training days before the regatta starts.
Q: Is it physically demanding?
Yes, more than cruising. Racing involves quick maneuvers, moving weight across the deck, and active participation. You don't need to be an athlete, but you should be fit enough to move quickly and handle lines under load.
Q: What gear do I need?
Apart from standard sailing gear, we recommend knee pads and sailing gloves with good grip (long fingers recommended). A comprehensive packing list will be sent upon registration.
Q: Will we really compete against other boats?
Absolutely. We participate in official regattas regulated by the Croatian Sailing Federation. You will be on the starting line with dozens of other yachts, fighting for position and sailing a designated course.
Q: How does the "Team" aspect work?
A race crew is a hierarchy. There is a helm, a tactician, trimmers, a pit person, and bowman. You will rotate roles during training, but on race day, you will be assigned a specific station to master. This clarity is what makes the boat fast and safe.
