Step away from the city and into a different rhythm. This immersion is crafted for those who seek to disconnect and learn during the weekend, offering an ideal alternative for students who lack the time for our seven-day Croatia expeditions.

This is not a passive sightseeing tour. While the open water offers a profound mental reset, your time on board is dedicated to real, hands-on learning. You will take the helm, trim the sails, and master practical techniques under professional standards.

OPTIONAL CERTIFICATION PATHWAY

Build recognised sailing qualifications without travelling offshore. Both the VHF/SRC Radio Certificate and the IYT International Crew Certificate can be completed during training on Lake Ammersee, as they do not require sea miles or an offshore passage. It is a practical way to combine hands-on sailing, safety training and international certification in one focused weekend.

VHF/SRC Radio Certificate

€290

The VHF/SRC Radio Certificate is an essential qualification for safe communication on the water. You will learn how to operate a marine VHF radio correctly, make routine calls, communicate with marinas and other vessels, and send the appropriate distress, urgency and safety messages when needed.

For anyone planning to charter, skipper a yacht or build a professional maritime career, radio competence is a major advantage. Many charter companies and employers expect skippers and crew to understand marine communication procedures and hold a recognised radio qualification.

Both certifications are optional. You can join the Sailing Weekend for practical training only, or choose one of the certification pathways to add an internationally recognised qualification to your sailing experience.

IYT International Crew Certificate

INTERNATIONAL CREW.jpg

€490

The IYT International Crew Certificate is a practical foundation for anyone beginning their sailing journey. It confirms that you have developed the essential knowledge and skills to contribute safely and effectively as a crew member on a sailing yacht.

You will build confidence in safety procedures, ropework, basic boat handling, teamwork and life on board. For those considering further training, offshore sailing or future work in yachting, this certificate provides a recognised starting point and demonstrates commitment, practical preparation and a professional attitude.

Both certifications are optional. You can join the Sailing Weekend for practical training only, or choose one of the certification pathways to add an internationally recognised qualification to your sailing experience.

SAILING WEEKEND: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes. You can choose to add the IYT International Crew Certificate and/or the VHF/SRC Radio Certificate to your Sailing Weekend. Both certifications can be completed on Lake Ammersee and do not require sea miles or an offshore passage.

Certification is optional. You may join the weekend for practical sailing training only, or add one of the certification pathways for an additional fee. We will confirm the requirements, availability and assessment details before your course.

What is the food and drink situation?
Sailing is active work! We encourage you to bring your own snacks and beverages. Our boat has a compact cabin to store your gear safely. There are also restaurants and a Biergarten at the marina for before or after the lesson.

What should I pack in my bag?
Essential gear includes a waterproof windbreaker, a cap or visor, sunglasses, and sunscreen. For safety and environmental reasons, please bring a reusable water bottle (aluminum or plastic only, no glass on board).

What shoes and clothing should I wear?

Wear comfortable, gym-like clothing that allows for easy movement. You must wear non-marking sneakers or deck shoes. For safety reasons, high heels and flip-flops are strictly prohibited on board.

Do I need previous experience?

Not at all. This weekend is designed to take beginners from zero to active, confident crew members. If you already have some experience, our coaching will help you refine your technical precision and boat handling.

What if I am late or the weather is bad?

Our lessons begin and end promptly to ensure fairness to all students. We sail in most weather conditions as part of the training. In the event of heavy rain or dangerous conditions, the session will be postponed.
